Flowers generally come on plastic stems, not wire. You need the flexible wire stems to hole them onto the form; the plastic stems won’t work for that.

I am (was) one of those people that had no idea what to do with a bunch silk flowers…never had EVER made anything that looked nice…so I just did not get it… But I tried to make the exact “M” monogram in the picture above with the pink carnations…and I have to say, IT LOOKS FABULOUS!!! Really, it does! Even my boys said, “Mom, our door looks great…” So, thank you, thank you!
