I’ve been posting most of my projects on my Instagram and Ravelry profile, but here’s a peek at some of my crochet projects:

Crocheted Easter Baskets

I crocheted some quick Easter baskets for my four sons — each of these took about an hour.

Puff Stitch Beanies

I started crocheting hats to practice with different yarns and techniques, and discovered that puff stitch beanies are a lot of fun to make!

(I called my hat crocheting the Heather Hat Project and ended up making 20+ hats of various styles and yarns).

Granny Square Welcome Mat

I made a giant granny square welcome mat for my cubicle at work (it also kind of looks like a flag for Granny Square Nation).

Rainbow Ripples

My sons started making requests, and the 11yo asked me to make a “black and rainbow” neck warmer (aka cowl), and I loved how it turned out so much that I made the exact same design a second time but stitched the top up into a hat.

Epic Afghans

I started crocheting afghans a few years ago. I didn’t know if I would make it through ONE because it was such a big project, but I had so much fun changing colors and yarns that it kept me going.

And then I made TEN MORE. I call them my “Epic Afghans.”

Today I got to be on my local TV station KPTV for their show “More” where I got to show off some of my favorite quick and easy dollar store craft ideas. Today was the big day! I was on the Martha Stewart Show! If you are on the west coast, you can catch the repeat of the show at 1pm on the Hallmark Channel. The episode was The Dollar Store Challenge for Halloween Costume week, and Martha’s team of crafters all had $15 to spend at the dollar store for their Halloween costume projects. It was quite an honor to be in the audience of the best craft show ever and have them talk all about my favorite topic – dollar store crafting!

I’m excited! The day I’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! This summer, I got together with two of my crafty friends, Jen from Tatertots & Jello, and Beckie from Infarrantly Creative to film a crafty web tv show called Get a Little Creative. The show is a crafty talk show where we interview a crafty guest and then share some great craft ideas and projects. [visit Get a Little Creative‘s website]

Well, our first show premiered yesterday! Every Tuesday, you will be able to watch a new episode. We have a lot of great topics and guests lined up!

And guess what, our first ever episode was about dollar store crafting! I had my friend and DSC contributor Care Sanchez from Obsessively Stitching come and demonstrate a project on the show.

The project we featured was one of the most popular crafts we’ve had on Dollar Store Crafts: the Cupcake Pincushion.

How to Watch the Show

You don’t have to have cable or satellite to watch the show! It is available online on a new online craft website called My Craft Channel.

My Craft Channel just launched this week! It has all original tv shows that are DIY and craft-related. Each day of the week, two or more new episodes premiere, and you can watch every show online whenever you want.
