DIY Botanical spray painted t-shirt - smart to use ferns for this project! - Dollar Store Crafts

Want to refresh a boring white t-shirt? Look no further than your backyard! Collect greenery from your yard to use in this cute botanical t-shirt made with fabric spray paint. My kids and I had a great time spray-painting t-shirts, and they turned out looking so great! Find out how to make this project in my column over at eBay: [DIY Botanical Spray Painted T-shirt]

Materials needed:

You can get a better deal on the fabric spray paint if you buy a multi-pack and use a coupon at your local craft store!

Why should you use this fabric spray paint instead of regular spray paint?

Tulip Color Shot is formulated for use on fabric, so it contains a paint softener, which gives it a way nicer feel on fabrics that you will be wearing. They have good fabric coverage, and an even spray pattern (without splatter). I have tried other fabric spray paint brands, but I prefer this brand and I recommend it.

Disclosure: I received this complementary product from the manufacturer, but was not compensated to write this post. Affiliate links included in this article. All information, wording, and opinions are strictly my own and I was not asked to post this article.

Summer is officially here. Has the hot weather done a number on your garden? I don’t have any tips on helping your plants survive a heat wave, but I can show you how to make your garden look cute with things that don’t need watering and can’t die. Because they’re not plants. Hello, homemade yard accessories!

1. Bottle Waterer that’s Actually Cute – Using an old glass bottle for drip watering is nothing new, but this tutorial takes that old idea and makes it look good.

2. Hose Rug – Do you have a hose in the shed that’s got a hole in it? Turn it into an outdoor rug!

3. Garden Toadstools – Old wooden bowls make the cutest tops for a garden toadstool.

4. Plastic Bottle Hedgehog – An old two-liter and some twine are the main ingredients for making this cute hedgehog planter.

5. Glass Plate Flowers – Get some boring glass plates from the thrift store and turn them into eye-catching, sun-catching DIY garden art.

6. Solar Chandelier – Light up your next garden party with an old chandelier turned new and useful again.

7. Painted Stones– Collect rocks from the garden and paint them to make cute garden art or plant row markers.

8. Patterned Stones – Use a paint pen to draw repeating patterns on your stones. They’re so cool-looking!

9. Broken Dish Pavers – Did you chip your favorite bowl or plate? Use the pieces to make a pretty piece of DIY garden art.

10. Water Bottle Dragonflies – Wouldn’t these look cute all over a fence or the side of a shed?

10 DIY Planters that Work Inside or Out - Get your backyard spring-ready or bring some spring beauty indoors with these DIY planters. They'll work inside or outside.

The weather here in Atlanta has been nothing short of fantastical, and my family has basically been living in the backyard, soaking it in. Get your backyard spring-ready or bring some spring beauty indoors with these DIY planters. They’ll work inside or outside.

1. Copper Pipe Planters – I love the modern look of this macrame planter from A Beautiful Mess. It would look lovely hanging in a sunny window or on a porch.

2. Candelabra Planter – Redhead Can Decorate turned an old ceiling fan and candelabra into a functional indoor or outdoor flower planter.

3. Faux Stone Planter – This little polymer clay planter from Lucy Akins is perfect for showing off your favorite succulent.

4. Tin Can Planter – Making a planter from a tin can sounds easier than it is, though it’s still super duper easy. Get the deets at Crafting a Green World.

5. Recycled Hanging Herb Planter – You can’t recycle mesh produce bags, but they give the right amount of drainage for making a sweet hanging herb planter.

6. Gratitude Planter – Heather bills this as a Thanksgiving craft, but I think that these pretty chalkboard pots would work well as part of your spring decor, too!

7. Poured Paint Planter – Turn a plain terra cotta pot into a colorful decor piece!

8. Faux Stone Planters – Bonnie at Revolutionaries turns old coffee canisters into chic planters with a faux stone finish.

9. Switch Plate Planters – It’s sort of amazing how replacing yellowed old switch plates makes a room look fresher. Don’t toss the old ones, though! Turn them into cute little planters with Apartment Therapy’s instructions.

10. Upside Down Planters – Design Sponge has a beautiful, recycled spin on those old As Seen on TV Upside Down Tomato Planters. And you can plant so much more than tomatoes in them!
