I do this all the time, works perfect and I’ve never had a bag come open or blow up. Add olive oil, salt, cracked black pepper and nutritional yeast for a healthy snack. So much better than that stuff you by in the bag.

Be careful, brown paper sacks are made of recycled paper and a piece of aluminum may get caught in them and catch your microwave on fire! My grandparents did it and his microwave caught on fire.

I do this, but I make up the bag each time we want to eat the popcorn. We don’t use any adhesive at all, just fold the top over a tad. It pops up wonderfully just like store-bought.

Oh poo! I was just getting ready to do a post about making your own microwavable popcorn bags! I haven’t looked at this version yet, but I’m sure it’s the same. Kathy V. I seal my bags with tape, which I see is called for on this post. Must be the same.

I’m wondering why she puts it in the freezer and how does she keep the popcorn from popping out if the bag isn’t sealed. I’ve been wondering if a person could just microwave popcorn in a bag, so thanks for this!
