Lately, the humble googly eye has seen some high fashion times. The Blonds featured a knockout <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sickathanaverage.com\/sta\/2011\/02\/cleopatra-esque-afro-bobs-and-blinged-out-nails-at-the-blonds-fall-2011-.html\">googly eyed jumper<\/a> in their Fall 2011 show. I will give a $50 Dollar Tree gift card to the first person who makes a googly eye jumper and sends me the photo!! Christian Louboutin designed the &#8220;D\u00e9j\u00e0 Vu\u201d heels &#8211; black slingbacks that are covered in googly eyes, and my friend Kristin over at <strong>Glitter &#8216;N Glue<\/strong> (who has been ROCKING at the DIY fashion tutorials lately), made a pair of lookalike Louboutins featuring wiggle eyes. [<a href=\"http:\/\/glitternglue.com\/2011\/10\/03\/faboolous-diy-googly-eye-slingbacks-inspired-by-christian-louboutin\/\">diy googly eye slingbacks<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16394\" title=\"diy-louboutin\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/diy-louboutin.jpg\" alt=\"the look for less\" width=\"520\" height=\"304\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/diy-louboutin.jpg 520w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/diy-louboutin-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Project Estimate:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pair of slingback pumps, on hand or $10 and up*<\/li>\n<li>3+ packages of googly eyes, $3 and up<\/li>\n<li>E-6000 glue, on hand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total: $3 and up<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*I got the $10 price tag from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newdressaday.com\/2011\/09\/15\/week-28-copycat-christian-louboutins\/\">New Dress a Day&#8217;s version<\/a> of these shoes. She got hers for $9.99 at Ross.<\/p>\n<p>This is just one of Kristin&#8217;s many recent Halloween-inspired fashion-forward projects, but I chose to feature them because I am such a fan of googly eyes! If this project doesn&#8217;t appeal to you, perhaps a pair of kids&#8217; shoes covered with googly eyes would be more fun! Or maybe a headband covered in googly eyes, just as a nod to the fashion trend.
