The tutorial is over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanessachristenson.com\/2009\/08\/tutorial-pottery-barn-looking.html\">V and Co.<\/a>, and shows you how to color the twine and wrap it around the styrofoam balls. Found via <a href=\"http:\/\/kari-youcanmakeit.blogspot.com\/2009\/08\/decorative-balls-pottery-barn-style.html\">U create<\/a>. [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanessachristenson.com\/2009\/08\/tutorial-pottery-barn-looking.html\">click here for instructions on how to do this project<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>The tutorial doesn&#8217;t mention any dollar store supplies, but I happen to know you can pick up styrofoam balls and twine at the dollar store, among other supplies like raffia, etc.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Project Estimate:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Styrofoam balls, $1 (for 3-6 balls)<\/li>\n<li>Twine, $1<\/li>\n<li>Spray paint, optional, on hand or about $3<\/li>\n<li>Hot glue, on hand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total: $1 and up per ball<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can mix this project up to fit your own tastes in decor. I might cover the styrofoam ball with papier-mache first and paint it dark blue if I was trying to get this exact look.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/thumbtackball.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-581  aligncenter\" title=\"thumbtackball\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/thumbtackball.jpg\" alt=\"thumbtackball\" width=\"196\" height=\"288\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And I found this in the Dollar Store Crafts archive, which I think would be an awesome modern take on the decorative ball: <a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/2008\/12\/make-a-thumbtack-ornament\/\">Thumbtack Armored Ball<\/a> (just omit the ornament-hanging loop).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/temariinspired.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-466\" title=\"temariinspired.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/temariinspired-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"temariinspired.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I also like these <a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/2008\/11\/make-japanese-inspired-ornaments\/\">Temari-inspired thread-covered balls<\/a>, also found in the Dollar Store Crafts archive.<\/p>\n<p>I hope this gets you started, Jessica!
