It&#39;s also why I like to use a lot of pumpkins in my Halloween decor. I can leave them out until my Christmas decorations go up after Thanksgiving and nobody thinks anything of it. This year I decided I needed some new pumpkins to add to my collection, so when I found a cute wire pumpkin at Dollar General that I really liked, I knew that I had to do something with it. I brought it home and gave it a ribbon-y makeover, and I went from liking it to loving it!<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<u>Project estimate:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tWire pumpkin wreath, $7<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tRibbon, on hand or $1 and up<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tHot glue, on hand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Total: $7 and up<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"fall decor shopping at Dollar General\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29314\" height=\"599\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin1-449x599.jpg\" width=\"449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin1-449x599.jpg 449w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin1.jpg 595w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 449px) 100vw, 449px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhen I checked out the fall decor at my local <a href=\"http:\/\/app.socialspark.com\/clicks?lid=29093&amp;oid=10535930\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dollar General<\/a> I found lots of great candles, floral accents, and wreaths. I had quite a few crafty ideas while browsing the selection, and saw lots of inexpensive little tidbits that I think I may have to work into my decorating. There were a few things I really liked, but one thing in particular caught my attention: a wire pumpkin with a floral swag attached across the bottom.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ribbon Wrapped Pumpkin Decor\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29316\" height=\"434\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin2-580x434.jpg\" width=\"580\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tI loved the wire pumpkin, but as-is it wasn&#39;t quite &quot;me&quot;. So I decided to give it a fun little makeover!<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ribbon Wrapped Pumpkin Decor\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29317\" height=\"435\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin3-580x435.jpg\" width=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin3-580x435.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin3.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/> The first thing I did was remove the floral swag, which was actually two floral picks held on with twist ties. It only took a few seconds to disassemble, and I set aside the floral picks to use for other seasonal projects.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ribbon Wrapped Pumpkin Decor\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29318\" height=\"435\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin4-580x435.jpg\" width=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin4-580x435.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin4-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin4.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tI decided that I wanted to wrap the sections of the pumpkin with ribbon. After choosing which sections I wanted to wrap, I used hot glue to attach one end of the ribbon to the wire pumpkin.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ribbon Wrapped Pumpkin Decor\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29320\" height=\"435\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin5-580x435.jpg\" width=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin5-580x435.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin5-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin5.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tI wrapped the whole section with ribbon from top to bottom, using a dab of glue every once in a while to hold the ribbon firmly in place.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ribbon Wrapped Pumpkin Decor\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29321\" height=\"435\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin6-580x435.jpg\" width=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin6-580x435.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin6-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin6.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tI repeated the same wrapping on the other side to keep it symmetrical.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ribbon Wrapped Pumpkin Decor\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29322\" height=\"435\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin7-580x435.jpg\" width=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin7-580x435.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin7-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin7.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tSince I wanted to play with different textures I decided to wrap the center section of the pumpkin with smaller ribbon, this time working in a figure-8 configuration around the wire. Again, add a dab of glue every other round or so to keep it from sliding up or down the wire as you work.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Ribbon Wrapped Pumpkin Decor\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-29323\" height=\"435\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin8-580x435.jpg\" width=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin8-580x435.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin8-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/pumpkin8.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n\tTo finish the pumpkin, I continued using the thinner ribbon, wrapping it all the way around to cover the rest of the bare wire. I even used a little bit of green ribbon to wrap the stem! I&#39;m super happy with how it turned out.
