for Dollar Store Crafts is that DSC crafters are so open minded to different crafting ideas. \u00a0Occasionally, I&#8217;ve made something quite out of the norm (like<a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/2013\/06\/tutorial-sunburst-mirror-made-with-an-unusual-item\/\" target=\"_blank\"> this mirror<\/a>) and been delighted to find that you all really liked the idea. \u00a0Two weeks ago I made a <a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/2014\/03\/turn-a-trophy-into-a-decorative-bottle-stopper\/\" target=\"_blank\">bottle topper<\/a> out of a trophy, and I looked at the trophy pieces strewn on my desk and wondered what I could do with them. \u00a0I grabbed a few items and started playing. \u00a0This is what I came up with: \u00a0a one of a kind candle holder.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31756\" alt=\"blue trophy candleholder\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/blue-trophy-candleholder-580x580.jpg\" width=\"580\" height=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/blue-trophy-candleholder-580x580.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/blue-trophy-candleholder-150x150.jpg 150w, 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first version of this was spray painted a neon yellow. \u00a0That was a disaster. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t prime anything, so the paint dripped and didn&#8217;t adhere evenly. \u00a0The color was a terrible choice. \u00a0Major craft fail!! \u00a0So I started over and made some adjustments, and I love the end result. \u00a0It&#8217;s unexpected but prettily shabby chic, I think.<\/p>\n<p>The trophies can be found at garage sales and thrift stores (if you don&#8217;t already have a few collecting dust!), and the rest of the items were all found at Dollar Tree.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31754\" alt=\"supplies\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/supplies1-576x599.jpg\" width=\"576\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Project estimate:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trophy, on hand or $1 and up<\/li>\n<li>Silver platter, $1<\/li>\n<li>Resin bird, $1<\/li>\n<li>Bird cage, $1<\/li>\n<li>Silk Flowers, on hand or $1 and up<\/li>\n<li>Battery operated candles, on hand or $1<\/li>\n<li>E-6000, on hand<\/li>\n<li>Paint, on hand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Total: $3 and up<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Step one: \u00a0Disassemble the trophy and reassemble it as desired. \u00a0Use E-6000 to glue the parts together. \u00a0You can see how I assembled my two candle holders below.<\/p>\n<p><a decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31760\" alt=\"step 1\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/step-11-534x599.jpg\" width=\"534\" height=\"599\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Step two: \u00a0Paint the entire project one color. \u00a0I used a large brush and chalky finish paint.<\/p>\n<p>Step three: \u00a0Once it is dry, add birds, flowers, and candles. \u00a0Since these could tip over easily, I suggest \u00a0using battery operated candles, which are available at Dollar Tree.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m planning to add small pastel, plastic Easter eggs to my pink platter as a fun centerpiece. \u00a0The blue candle holder is on my \u00a0mantle, next to my decorated bottle. \u00a0I like to decorate with unusual, unexpected items. \u00a0Do you?<\/p>\n<p><img
