Since we&#8217;ve been doing a lot of work to our lawn this season, I picked one up so I could use it to make something pretty to add to our flower beds. \u00a0When I also noticed a bunch of metal hanging butterfly decorations, I knew that combining the two elements would make something just perfect for my colorful, quirky gardening style! \u00a0(And it makes a wonderful companion for my <a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/2013\/05\/tutorial-zebra-stripe-lawn-flamingo\/\">zebra striped flamingo<\/a>!)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Project estimate:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wire trellis, $1<\/li>\n<li>Metal butterfly, $1<\/li>\n<li>Spray paint, on hand<\/li>\n<li>E6000 glue, on hand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total: $2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-32440\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis1-580x388.jpg\" alt=\"Butterfly Garden Trellis\" width=\"580\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis1-580x388.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis1-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis1-768x514.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis1.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first thing I did was give it a coat of paint. \u00a0You can skip this step if you want, but I decided I wanted mine to be a bit more colorful. \u00a0Lots of people have a green trellis, but how many people have a purple trellis? \u00a0I love how spray paint is like pizzazz in a can!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-32441\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis2-580x428.jpg\" alt=\"Butterfly Garden Trellis\" width=\"580\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the hanging chain from the butterfly with a pair of pliers and set it aside for a future project.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-32444\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis3-580x434.jpg\" alt=\"Butterfly Garden Trellis\" width=\"580\" height=\"434\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the spray paint is dry, line the two pieces up and place them face-down on your work surface. \u00a0Carefully add a dab of E6000 glue to the back side of the butterfly everywhere it meets the wire. \u00a0Let the glue dry undisturbed for at least an hour.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-32443\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis4-580x425.jpg\" alt=\"Butterfly Garden Trellis\" width=\"580\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis4-580x425.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis4-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis4-768x563.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/trellis4.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the glue is dry, find it a home somewhere in your garden or lawn!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few weeks ago my local Dollar Tree got a shipment of small wire trellises.
