Create an inexpensive and easy command station using dollar store finds: clipboards, hooks, baskets, and make them super functional with Scotch\u2122 Chalkboard Tape and Dry Erase Tape, and <a href=\"http:\/\/soch.us\/lV6N-1HaXf\" rel=\"nofollow\">Scotch\u00ae Duct Tape<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-33305\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/command-station-dollar-store-craft-398x599.jpg\" alt=\"Kitchen command station using dollar store stuff and Scotch\u00ae Duct Tapes #scotchducttape\" width=\"398\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Project Materials:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 clipboards, $2<\/li>\n<li>Bulletin board, $1<\/li>\n<li>2 wire office supply cups, $2<\/li>\n<li>Wire sorting tray, $1<\/li>\n<li>4 zip ties, $1 for a package<\/li>\n<li>2 baskets, $2<\/li>\n<li>Metal adhesive hooks, $2<\/li>\n<li>Scotch\u2122 Chalkboard Tape, $6<\/li>\n<li>Scotch\u2122 Dry Erase Tape, $6<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/soch.us\/lV6N-1HaXf\" rel=\"nofollow\">Scotch\u00ae Duct Tape<\/a> in Dottie, $3.50<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Drill<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total Cost: $26.50<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Note: I got all the surfaces at the dollar store, but the Scotch\u2122 Chalkboard Tape, Scotch\u2122 Dry Erase Tape, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/soch.us\/lV6N-1HaXf\" rel=\"nofollow\">Scotch\u00ae Duct Tape<\/a>  can be purchased online or at other retailers.<\/p>\n<p>With Scotch\u2122 Chalkboard Tape and Dry Erase Tape, you can create a chalkboard or dry erase surface on anything flat and smooth. I added the tape to clipboards to make a stylish and functional kitchen chalkboard and white board. I also added Chalkboard tape to the plastic baskets to make easy labels.<\/p>\n<h3>Part 1: Make Clipboard Chalkboard and Dry Erase Boards<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-33304\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/clipboard-command-station-craft-580x426.jpg\" alt=\"Kitchen command station using dollar store clipboards and Scotch\u00ae Duct Tapes #scotchducttape\" width=\"580\" height=\"426\" \/><\/p>\n<p>1. Cut five strips of Scotch\u2122 Chalkboard Tape the height of the clipboard, from the clip to the bottom of the board.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-33303\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/chalkboard-clipboard-steps-580x580.jpg\" alt=\"Kitchen command station using dollar store stuff and Scotch\u00ae Duct Tapes #scotchducttape\" width=\"580\" height=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/chalkboard-clipboard-steps-580x580.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/chalkboard-clipboard-steps-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/chalkboard-clipboard-steps-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/chalkboard-clipboard-steps-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/chalkboard-clipboard-steps.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. Lay Scotch\u2122 Chalkboard Tape strips on board one by one, slightly overlapping the edges of tape as you go.<\/p>\n<p>3. Cut small pieces of Scotch\u00ae Duct Tape to lay next to the clip on the clipboard. For my wire clip-style clipboard, I lifted the clip and laid a piece of tape (cut in half lengthwise) under where the clip would go.<\/p>\n<p>4. Lay pieces of Scotch\u00ae Duct Tape along the edges of the clipboard, and fold over the back of the clipboard to create a finished edge.<\/p>\n<p>5. For corners, cut a notch out of the corner as shown, to make it super simple and clean to fold the corners over.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat process for Scotch\u2122 Dry Erase Tape clipboard.<\/p>\n<p>Next, add the supply cup to the board, to provide a convenient place to keep writing utensils.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-33299\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/attaching-cup-to-clipboard-580x580.jpg\" alt=\"Kitchen command station using dollar store stuff and Scotch\u00ae Duct Tapes #scotchducttape\" width=\"580\" height=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/attaching-cup-to-clipboard-580x580.jpg 580w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/attaching-cup-to-clipboard-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/attaching-cup-to-clipboard-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/attaching-cup-to-clipboard-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/attaching-cup-to-clipboard.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>1. Drill two holes through the clipboard on the lower edge to create a place to thread zip ties through.<\/p>\n<p>Note: Be sure to follow proper safety procedures when using a drill. Also, if you are afraid of using a drill, don\u2019t be &#8211; it\u2019s almost as easy as using a stapler!<\/p>\n<p>2. If your zip tie is wider than the cup\u2019s mesh like mine, you might need to also poke matching holes through the mesh on the cup.<\/p>\n<p>3. Thread a zip tie through the top hole on the back of the clipboard, then through the top hole of the cup, then back into the bottom hole of the cup, and back through the bottom hole on the clipboard. Next, drill two holes in either end of the clipboard to attach the office supply organizer tray.<\/p>\n<p>3. Attach tray with zip ties like you did for the office supply cups in the previous project.<\/p>\n<p>4. Add adhesive metal hooks to the front of the tray.<\/p>\n<h3>Part 3: Label the Baskets<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-33306\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/inbox-outbox-580x297.jpg\" alt=\"Kitchen command station using dollar store stuff and Scotch\u00ae Duct Tapes #scotchducttape\" width=\"580\" height=\"297\" \/><br \/>\nThis part is easy!
