but if you do so, use a pair that is slightly larger than your foot. \u00a0It is difficult to loosen and put on the shoe after the fabric has been glued on. \u00a0This would work best with slip on shoes.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Step one: \u00a0Cut the fabric into strips that are 2 inches wide. \u00a0I used <a href=\"http:\/\/oly-fun.com\">Oly*Fun<\/a> fabric, which is specially designed not to fray, and looks like tissue paper but is durable and weather proof. \u00a0Cut the strips into fringe.<\/p>\n<p>Step two: \u00a0Use the hot glue gun to adhere the strips to the shoes. \u00a0Start at the front, and go to the top of the shoe tongue. \u00a0If your shoe has laces, just glue the sides down to leave the laces free. \u00a0Hot glue the fringe to the back of the shoe, as pictured. \u00a0Trim off any excess fringe.<\/p>\n<p>Step three: \u00a0Cut two pieces of foam into triangles, and glue the fringe on. \u00a0Hot glue them to the sides of the shoes as ears for the donkey pi\u00f1ata.<\/p>\n<p>Step four: \u00a0Hot glue the eyes on.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-33526 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/DIY-Pinata-Costume-Shoes-580x580.jpg\" alt=\"DIY Pinata Costume Shoes\" width=\"580\" height=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/DIY-Pinata-Costume-Shoes-580x580.jpg 580w, 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I used foam for the ears so they&#8217;d be lightweight and can bounce back from being rubbed together when you walk. \u00a0I&#8217;ll be wearing my pi\u00f1ata shoes as part of a bigger costume that is still a work in progress (stay tuned!), but as I mentioned earlier, you could cover yourself with wrappers or candy to complete the look. \u00a0For now, I&#8217;ve entered these shoes in a fun shoe decorating contest. \u00a0You can check out the entries and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sicloviakicks.com\/?shareid=108\"
