Any ideas for inexpensive decorations, favors, etc?<\/em><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\n<\/span>Here are my ideas:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 800px;\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/derbyhat.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>1.<strong> Have a &#8220;derby hat&#8221; making activity<\/strong>, using <a href=\"http:\/\/familyfun.go.com\/crafts\/party-crafts-706351\/\">these instructions from Family Fun<\/a> (there are also instructions on the same page for making pretty fans, which would be a good derby activity).<\/p>\n<p><strong>You need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wrapping paper<\/li>\n<li>Colored tape<\/li>\n<li>Tape<\/li>\n<li>Tissue paper (for flowers)<\/li>\n<li>Any other fun adornments like faux jewels, flowers, etc. (Look in the dress-up aisle of the dollar store)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2.<strong> Make horsie award ribbons<\/strong> (blue, of course!) using this <a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/2009\/10\/medallion-banner\/\">technique for making medallions<\/a> with coasters &amp; crepe paper. Just add long streamers to the bottom of the medallions.<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Get <a href=\"http:\/\/clickserve.cc-dt.com\/link\/tplclick?lid=41000000030569093&amp;pubid=21000000000261338\">party supplies<\/a> at Oriental Trading Company<\/strong>. I found a lot of cute things when I did a search for &#8220;horse,&#8221; like the horsie balloon bouquet shown at the top of the post.<\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s your turn, readers, please weigh in with your ideas!<\/p>\n<p>p.s.
