This week, I&#8217;m bringing you several costume ideas that are simple,  no-sew, and frugal. Today&#8217;s featured costume is the no-sew Octopus costume. I used several pairs of striped knee socks to create the octopus legs. You can find knee socks at the dollar store, or shop at Target or Wal-mart for more selection. [<a href=\"http:\/\/crafts.kaboose.com\/octopus-costume.html\">get instructions for making the Octopus costume at my Kaboose post<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/costumesketch-octopushoodie.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7416\" title=\"costumesketch-octopushoodie\" src=\"http:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/costumesketch-octopushoodie.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"334\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/costumesketch-octopushoodie.jpg 400w, https:\/\/dollarstorecrafts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/costumesketch-octopushoodie-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 334px) 100vw, 334px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I originally imagined this costume slightly different, with the sock legs coming out of the chest and the child&#8217;s arms as one pair of legs. I decided to make the legs more like a skirt coming off of the sweatshirt and add the face to the chest of the sweatshirt instead of the hood.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Project Estimate:<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li> Hooded sweatshirt, on hand<\/li>\n<li> 4 pairs of knee socks (8 socks total), $4<\/li>\n<li> Duct tape, on hand or $1<\/li>\n<li> About 30 plastic grocery bags, on hand<\/li>\n<li> Craft felt sheets in black, white, and pink, on hand or $1<\/li>\n<li> Glue dots, $1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total: $6 and up<\/strong><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Day 3 of Homemade Costume Week at Dollar Store Crafts!
